Inspections

Like most nurseries and schools in the UK, we are regulated by Ofsted.

Ofsted have approved our premises as being suitable for caring for up to 57 children at a time, though we choose to accommodate less to create a comfortable environment for the children who come to us.

They inspect us to ensure that we are complying with the National Standards for our industry, and with all relevant legislation. Their inspectors visit us with no advanced warning, quite literally turning up at the door and inspecting us as they find us.

We have been inspected five times since we opened, in November 2003, December 2004, September 2006, September 2009 and September 2014. Our last inspection rated Springles as good in all areas. Copies of these reports are available from the Nursery Manager or Ofsted’s website www.ofsted.gov.uk.

To ensure that we are continually reflecting on our practice and ensuring that it meets each child’s needs well, we also use other internationally recognised self-evaluation such as ITERS & ECERS and the Leuven scale of well being, as well as working closely with a KCC Early Years Advisor and other child development specialists where appropriate to the needs of specific children.
