Our Nursery Director, Judi, has been a qualified nursery nurse since 1981, and also has a degree in psychology with an emphasis on early years development. From there her qualifications and proven working skills with children at each stage of pre-school development led to her becoming one of the first practitioners to achieve Early Years Professional Status (the equivalent of Qualified Teacher Status). In recognition of her achievements to date, Kent County Council sponsored Judi to study for an MA in Psychosocial Studies at the world-renowned Institute of Education. Judi continues to monitor the smooth running of the nursery and pre-school.
Claire, who manages the nursery on a day-to-day basis has extensive experience of working with children in the early years. During her career with Springles, Claire has been a Room Leader to our babies and toddlers as well as to our pre-school children. Claire recognises and understands the needs of children at each stage of their development. She is committed to continually extending her depth of knowledge and has recently completed her foundation degree in early years. This year Claire is working towards completing her honors degree in early years. In her role as manager Claire recognizes the importance of a highly trained team of staff and seeks to ensure that standards are maintained to a high level as she passes on her knowledge and experience.
Claire is supported by the deputy manager, Emma, who initially qualified as an NVQ Level 3 in childcare whilst working at Springles. Emma has since completed her foundation degree in early years. She has continued to develop her skills and knowledge of children at each stage of their development as she has worked with each age group as a key person and understands the needs of the children well. She is currently Room Leader of the Pre-School.
All of our other staff have been carefully selected for their enthusiasm, commitment to providing high quality childcare, technical knowledge, maturity and breadth of experience. Most of our staff hold childcare qualifications or are actively working towards them.
